2nd Annual Corolla Island Spring Social: Celebrating the Twenties While Preserving Local History and Heritage

COROLLA, NC--The Whalehead Preservation Trust is hosting the 2nd Annual Corolla Island Spring Social on Saturday, April 22, 2006 on the north lawn of the Whalehead Club. Join us while we dine and dance into the night while supporting the continued preservation efforts of the Trust at this fundraising gala.

The evening will be staged under a quadrangle of tents just behind the historic Whalehead Club. An anticipated 600 guests dressed in vintage 1920's and formal attire is expected. The theme of the evening is "Roaring 20's," the era in which the Knight's built the enchanting Corolla Island, later known as the Whalehead Club. Catering will be provided by Chef Andy Montero of Montero's Restaurant, Bar and Catering of Elizabeth City. Chef Montero has planned a menu of foods reminiscent of the 1920's. The instrumental and vocal talents of the "Rhythm Kings" of Virginia Beach will encourage dancing to music from Swing, Big Band, Jazz, Beach and current dance tunes. Activities will include an early evening raffle of a grand gift, vintage car photos, a silent and live auction consisting of quality handcrafted furnishings, artwork and so much more! This will be a fantastic opportunity for people to enjoy fabulous food, relive an era gone by, have a great time with friends, and contribute to preservation all in one evening!

While the Whalehead Club's revival has progressed a long way since its purchase in 1992, research, furnishings and artifact conservation will continue for many years. Please join us on Saturday, April 22nd for a glamorous evening of fun and festivities. This is your opportunity to be a "Partner in Preservation" and have a "Ball" too!

Tickets are $100 each with Sponsorship Packages available at $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 each. For more information about the 2nd Annual Corolla Island Spring Social, Sponsorship Packages, charitable tax deductions, or to purchase your tickets contact the Whalehead Club at 252-453-9040, ext. 3, email events@whaleheadclub.com, or visit the website at www.whaleheadclub.org.
